Trnjanska Primary school is located on the left shore of the river Sava in the city of
Zagreb and is more than 100 years old. Being founded in 1899 it one of the oldest schools in Zagreb.
The school has great heritage, including the publication of the first issue of a famous children
magazine „Modra lasta“ („Blue swallow“) in 1953.
Starting from autumn 2014 the school and its four 1st to 4th grade teachers, Jasna Haraminčić Kleščić,
Luci Plenković Omersko, Ivančica Tajsl Dragičević and Branka Vuzem, are participating in SCOLLAm project
kindly sharing their time, experience and knowledge.
Today, school is a learning home of 180 students distributed throughout its 8 grades.
Apart from the regular classes, children enjoy a variety of after-school and out-of-classroom activities.
For more than 20 years school has been hosting LiDraNO, students’ festival of literature, theatre play and
journalism for all primary and secondary schools in Trnje municipality. Moreover, since 2013 the school is
hosting History competitions for all primary schools in Zagreb.
