The digital lesson designer [in]Form Author is a web application that allows creation and editing of multimedia-rich interactive teaching lessons, to some extent similar to the presentation slides. The application allows teachers and lesson designers to create simple lessons, questionnaires and games, which can then be run through the [in]Form platform or via any JavaScript-enabled web browser.
The lessons are stored in JSON format and retrieved through the SCOLLAm web service interface and the central database on demand. Besides simple operations such as adding text or images, the Author application allows lesson designer to define actions such as “move the object”, “change the slide” or “start the video”, create and manipulate values in simple variables, and define actions that are run on specific events (e.g. when user selects correct answer or increments the score variable). Since each lesson can be played directly from the SCOLLAm [in]Form mobile application, the interaction between
the two is possible.
